Interested in Volunteering? Want to help out for this event or any event? Make sure your VIPS is up to date for the 2020-2021 school year. It only takes a moment to complete the HISD application.

Please CLICK on the following links to register for the 2020-2021 school year.  All New and Returning volunteers must complete the new VIPS Online Volunteer Orientation before applying to become a volunteer.

English: https://www.houstonisd.org/vipslogin or Spanish https://houstonisd.org/voluntarios

Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) recruit thousands of parents and community partners to donate their time, resources, and knowledge in support of the district’s primary goal to increase student achievement. Volunteers contribute in areas such as mentoring, tutoring, fundraising, career education, enrichment programs, extracurricular and community service activities, and office and classroom assistance.

After registering online and undergoing the annual background check, volunteers can work in any HISD school for the school year. All schools can track volunteer hours donated to the school district by establishing an online VIPS account.

Once you have registered online, please bring your driver’s license to the receptionist at the front desk and she will complete the process. Alternatively, you can email a picture of your driver’s license to Claudia Alvarenga at CALVAREN@houstonisd.org

Please read the VIPS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for more details.
